With the Halloween season upon us and a huge choice of spooktacular events to choose from, we've rounded up this year's highlights at the UK's theme parks and beyond into... The Ultimate Guide to Halloween 2018.

All of the most popular theme parks are as usual offering a comprehensive array of frightful fun, including Scarefest at Alton Towers, Fright Nights at Thorpe Park, Howl'o'ween at Chessington World of Adventures, Brick or Treat at LEGOLAND Windsor and More Treat Than Trick at Drayton Manor.

The UK’s original pleasure park Dreamland Margate transforms into a world of nightmares with Screamland, Vampire Pleasure Beach returns to Blackpool Pleasure Beach as part of a week of Halloween activities, Fear Island takes over Fantasy Island, and Twinlakes Park will become a Family Scream Park by day and an Xtreme Scream Park by night.

There is also a great lineup of family Halloween events at many other theme parks in the UK including Paultons Park, Lightwater Valley, Flamingo Land, Pleasurewood Hills and Oakwood.

Looking beyond the UK's theme parks, Tulleys Shocktober Fest is the biggest and best of the dedicated scare attractions around the UK and Warwick Castle becomes The Haunted Castle for Halloween.

Paultons Park has completely revamped their Halloween offering for 2018, introducing a new family-friendly walkthrough attraction and a new live show, as well as fun character meet and greets, a fancy dress competition and decorating the theme park with over 4000 pumpkins!

We were invited to spend a day at the park, taking in both of the new additions and enjoying all the rides and attractions.

Warwick Castle once again becomes The Haunted Castle for Halloween in 2018, and we were invited to the first day of the event to experience the highlights of this year's unearthly line-up.

Warwick Castle has packaged their Halloween attractions into 3 categories; Scaredy Squires (suitable for all ages), Daring Dukes (10 years +) and Brave Knights (12 years +).

The Howl 'Scream Park' has returned to Mead Open Farm with two brand new horror mazes for 2018.

The Howl is now in its third year but this was to be our very first visit, and knowing that the attraction has been created by the same team as Tulleys Shocktober Fest meant we were assured of a great night.

There’s hair-raising fun this Howl’o’ween at Chessington World of Adventures with attractions including the award-winning Creepy Caves Unearthed and the new Haunted Howl’o’ween Live Show, plus the return of Curse of the Lost Tomb, Trick or Treat Wood and Room on the Broom Spooky Story Time as well as rides in the dark.

We went along to the opening weekend of this year's event and were really impressed with not only the Halloween attractions but also the fantastic decoration of the theme park.
