News from UK Theme Parks

CBeebies animated series Peter Rabbit has arrived at Flamingo Land with an all-new Peter Rabbit Adventure attraction.

The new playground joins the UK’s only combined theme park, zoo and holiday resort in one, all set in over 375 acres of North Yorkshire parkland.

The proposed London Resort in Kent, is now set to open in 2023 as the application for the necessary permissions for the theme park resort has been delayed once again.

London Resort Company Holdings (LRCH), the developer behind the plans to build a multi-billion pound entertainment resort, announces that its final round of public consultation on plans for the London Resort will now be taking place in early 2018 and that it will be submitting the Development Consent Order application in Spring. This latest round of events represents the fifth stage of an extensive programme of community engagement carried out by LRCH, which has already seen over 8,000 people participate. The anticipated grand opening date is now in 2023.

Rootin Tootin Target Trail has opened on Main Street at Pleasurewood Hills, an interactive family ride that’s fun for everyone.

New for 2017, the laser shooter dark ride is suitable for adults and children of all heights and ages (under 1.1 metre must be accompanied by an adult) and replaces HoBs PiT, the previous horror-themed dark ride that opened in 2013 as 'one of the UK's scariest attractions', with a 12A restriction.

Since the opening of a Fairytale Forest in 1952, Efteling in Holland has grown to become one of the most visited theme parks in Europe.

To mark their 65th anniversary, the theme park resort has invested 35 million euros in Symbolica: Palace of Fantasy, and we were invited to the launch.

London Resort Company Holdings Limited and Paramount Licensing Inc. have jointly agreed to discontinue the licence agreement for the proposed theme park resort in Kent that is set to open in 2022.

LRCH have said that this does not have any effect on the timing of the planned Development Consent Order (DCO) submission for the resort in November 2017, however there is speculation that that losing such a major partner could derail the project, whilst others believe it opens up possibilities for working with new organisations.
