Alton Towers Rollercoaster Restaurant

Alton Towers has announced details of the UK's first Rollercoaster Restaurant which will be opening at the theme park in 2016.

Opening in May 2015, the new Rollercoaster Restaurant is set below a vast rollercoaster track where diners can watch as their food orders tackle two gravity defying loop-the-loops before dropping 8 metres down a tornado spiral to their table.

Each diner will enjoy a full 360˚ dining experience at one of the 13 tables and will get to select from the brand new menu of family favourites, including the Ultimate Twister Ice Cream Bowl!

The new Rollercoaster Restaurant will be open 10am-10pm during the main season with both lunch and dinner menus. A lunch menu will be served until 4pm including burgers and steaks. Reservations will be required from 5pm when a more comprehensive menu will be available, and the restaurant will be available to hotel guests even after the theme park has closed.

Above the Air station, the existing shop will be moved to a new extension on one side of the building, making room for the new Rollercoaster Restaurant, and another extension on the other side of the building will accommodate the kitchens and toilets.

There are currently 8 of these restaurants in the world, one of which is called Food Loop and is located at Europa Park, the largest theme park in Germany. Tables have touch screens with which you can order food and drinks. A lift system transports food and drink up to tracks which then deliver them to the tables
