This popular event includes two live action scare maze attractions. We thoroughly enjoyed them both, and found the mix of acted scenes, detailed sets and various effects, to be very effective.

Once you have your admission tickets to the park, entry to the scare maze attractions is only £5 for both. It's an absolute bargain, as these attractions are of a good length and they really add to the experience of visiting the park at this time of the year.

Only one household group or bubble goes into each maze at a time, so you are alone with the scare actors. These attractions are unlikely to be suitable for those under the age of 12 years old due to how terrifying they are!

Shaft 13

Only the bravest adventurers will head into Shaft 13 – a mine long abandoned by the Dark Hills Mining Company. Many have ventured in but none have returned to tell the tale of the mine which is said to be haunted by Hob, an axe wielding demon who claims the lives of anyone who goes in.

Shaft 13 makes ample use of prolonged darkness, narrow passageways and low level tunnels to make this a really claustrophobic experience. There are lots of loud noises and jump scares throughout.

Hell Express

Welcome aboard the Hell Express, a one way ticket to the final destination. On board this train of horrors are the souls of the damned, ferried by the evil, satanic demons that conduct this nightmare on rails. Will you be brave enough to join the passenger list?

Hell Express is a relentless journey that uses multiple effects, such as smoke and smells, to assault your senses. Taking place in real train carriages gives this maze an authenticity that actually enhances it.

Other additions

The park's miniature railway has been decorated for Halloween to become the Train of Tiny Terrors. Children will enjoy spotting the decorations along the route.

Inside the House of Little Horrors, families can have a go at pumpkin carving and on some dates there are 'slime workshops'.

Fans of the park's mascot, Woody Bear, can enjoy a 'meet and greet' in the Castle Theatre.

Rides and attractions

There are more than 35 rides, shows and attractions at Pleasurewood Hills, with something for everyone! The most popular rides are the roller coasters, including Wipeout, Cannonball Express, Marble Madness and the Egg-Spress, along with the Water Fun Factory log flume and Rootin Tootin Target Trail interactive dark ride.
