Britain's oldest surviving rollercoaster, the famous Scenic Railway, will re-open at Dreamland Margate on 15th October 2015, four months later than planned.

Dreamland Margate, the UK's original pleasure park, reopened on 19th June 2015 with a grand opening day and star-studded opening night party. ThemeParks-UK were invited to check out the re-imagined park with it's restored, recreated and retro-fitted rides from the Golden Age of the British seaside holiday up to the present day.

Travel back in time for a Jurassic family adventure at Paultons Park in 2016, as the Lost Kingdom arrives featuring two new roller coasters and much more.

Opening 17th May 2016, step into the Lost Kingdom, a prehistoric world where dinosaurs still roam the earth. This new land will join the other themed areas Peppa Pig World and Critter Creek as the theme park continues to develop.

ThemeParks-UK were invited to the park for a behind-the-scenes tour of the new land and to check out the construction so far, and as you can see things are really taking shape now.

Drayton Manor will be ending its 65th anniversary season with two weeks of spooky Halloween half-term fun and three nights of spectacular fireworks.

Halloween takes over Drayton Manor from Saturday 17th to Saturday 31st October with their More Treat Than Trick event, and there will be a War of the Worlds themed Fireworks Spectacular weekend taking place on Friday 30th, Saturday 31st October and Sunday 1st November. 

Cornwall's Crealy has been sold to John Broome, with plans to turn the family theme park near Newquay into a "premier European resort".

Along with the purchase of the existing theme park, he has acquired almost 200 acres of adjoining farmland. If plans are approved, the Camel Creek Resort will include up to 236 holiday villas and courtyard properties surrounding the largest tropical lake in Britain, tree houses, a pool, spa, restaurant, pub and convention centre. The theme park, which currently includes a mixture of family rides, play areas and animals, will also be updated.

Gulliver's Theme Parks has purchased a 333-acre site near the Rother Valley Country Park in Yorkshire, with plans to develop a new £37 million family theme park.

They already have three theme parks; Gulliver's Kingdom in Matlock Bath, Gulliver's Land in Milton Keynes and Gulliver's World in Warrington. Themed areas at these parks include Alice's Wonderland, Western World, Smugglers Wharf, Lilliput Land, Water World, Gully Town, Adventure Land, Discovery Bay and Toy Land.

LEGOLAND Windsor’s hugely popular ‘Brick or Treat’ event for Halloween runs between Saturday 17 October - Monday 2 November 2015 when Frankie the Friendly Monster and his not so evil side kick Lord Vampyre return for lots of great LEGO themed fun and games.

Plus, on weekends throughout Brick or Treat guests can enjoy the spectacular LEGO Ninjago Fireworks on 17/18, 24/25 and 30/31 October 2015.

Roll up! Roll Up! Fright Nights returns to Thorpe Park with a brand new horror maze experience, The Big Top, a carnival brimming with sordid characters including adult babies, clowns, mime artists and a jack-in-the-box.

New for 2015, guests are invited to join the show as they twist their way through the brand new scare maze set in an abandoned carnival on the island’s Amity Beach. Prepare for screams at the carnival, experiences include a Fortune Tellers Wagon, a mirror maze brimming with chuckling clowns and mime artists, a creepy fun house, a torture chamber, game stalls with a twist, a circus scare room and the clown’s dressing room. The Carnival owners, the Figaro Bros, will greet you along your journey. Guests quickly discover this is no longer a place of laughter. Will they make it through the final encore of the Carnival show?

Merlin Entertainments (the operators of Alton Towers, Thorpe Park, Chessington World of Adventures and LEGOLAND Windsor) also run several of the most popular attractions in London, four of which are all together at County Hall on the Southbank. We went beyond the theme parks, to see what they all offer.

Chessington Howl'o'ween takes places between 23rd October - 2nd November 2015, 10am - 8pm, and this year the spooky event includes two new spine-tingling attractions, Curse of the Lost Tomb and Trick or Treat Wood, as well as rides in the dark.
